Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Pokémon Showdown set?
A standardized text format that describes a Pokémon's species, item, ability, moves, EVs, IVs and nature. Used across competitive communities to share battle-ready teams.
How do I create a legal Pokémon for Nintendo Switch trading?
Use this builder to configure your set, run the legality check to verify it meets game rules, then submit it directly to the trade queue when connected.
Which Pokémon games are supported by this Showdown set builder?
This tool supports all Nintendo Switch Pokémon titles: Legends Arceus, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Sword and Shield, and Scarlet and Violet.
Will my English Showdown set give me a Pokémon in my game language?
Yes. The preview stays in English because the bot reads Showdown text in English, but the Pokémon you receive can still match your game language.
Do I need to enter trainer ID and secret ID for my Pokémon?
No. The trade bot handles all trainer details including SID, TID and OT name automatically when processing your request.
How does the trade queue work?
When you submit a request, you're added to a temporary queue. You must whisper (DM) BerichanBot an 8-digit trade code. Then, when BerichanBot pings you in the chat with @ telling you it's your turn to trade, start searching for it with the trade code you whispered earlier! Simply trade anything unwanted to receive your Pokémon. All updates are posted in Twitch chat — use !ts to check your position and !cancel to leave the queue.
What happens if I type in the Konami code?
Ditto!
